All original and in really super condition, this antique Silver locket and matching collarette dates to 1886 (with a full hallmark to the reverse) when pieces such as this were of the highest fashion. Nicely substantial and crafted in Silver (likely in one of the workshops in the famous Birmingham Jewellery Quarter), the whole is a symphony of harmonious ornamentation; including beautiful applique Gold accents.
A very striking pairing, the decorative collar itself measures 18 inches including the large bolt ring clasp and can also be worn alone or with other pendants. It is in the archaeological style with flowery stars to each link and bobbles to each edge, in what was sold as the 'Roman' style.
The locket itself two inches lengthwise and inside it can hold two precious images.
